Tournament seeded rand two GBR Nicola Adams was the favourite against the ageing five times world champion India’s Hmangte Mery Kom. Merly seemed no match to speed and reach of Adams.
Mery was struggling right from the round 1 which she lost by two points and didn’t seem to cover it in next three rounds either. Admas used all her wit to overcome Mery and ended the tournament with much more convincing score than their last meeting(13-11) in world champion ship this year May.
Adams lead kept on increasing throughout the game Round 1 ended in favour of Adams 3-1, Round two 2-1, Round three 3-2 and final round with the score of 3-2 and making it the total of 11-6 in favour of Adams and good enough to book slot in Olympic Finals.
